Personal responsibility
At GHQ, Tokyo, I was with Economic and Scientific Dept. I classified letters sent from Japanese people in Japan.
Living conditions
Slept in tent. Ate K rations. Took showers in outside showers. Played cards.
Most vivid memory of military experience
After duty, I collected leftover cakes from mess hall and gave it to Japanese children who were waiting for us every night at Hibiya Park.
Missed most whilst in the military
Missed Family and friends. Also missed Japanese food.
Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience?
War - does not serve all the problems in the world. We should all live in Peace.
