Living conditions
I lived in army barracks, slept on bunks and used the barracks bathroom facilities. The meals were very good. I went to the movies and bars for entertainment.
Most vivid memory of military experience
I made friends with people from different places. I went out with a 'black' soldier friend and experienced having to go to a segregated tavern in Arkansas.
Missed most whilst in the military
I missed my freedom mostly.
Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience?
I sacrificed two years of my life to serve my country in the military. I would like people to know that I have paid the price and did my duty as a citizen of U.S.A., although foreign born.
