On April 13th Joshu Sasaki Roshi turned 100 years old. I was lucky enough to attend the festivities which included a teisho (dharma talk) and a bento box lunch. In the evening there was a very special sushi and sake dinner with many guests, including musician Leonard Cohen. The events were held at Rinzai Ji Zen Center which Roshi founded in 1968. It was a beautiful affair and it is amazing to see such a great teacher continue to perservere.
