Entre los pequenos emprendimientos comerciales independientes que marcaron durante decadas la tendencia laboral de buena parte de la comunidad japonesa en zonas urbanas, se registra el de las tintorerias. A partir del crecimiento en cantidad de locales como del buen servicio por parte de los japoneses, es asociada desde entonces en la Argentina a la imagen de la colectividad japonesa. Hoy, el “tintorero – japones” subsiste aun en el imaginario de la sociedad argentina.
