Henry Yu


Dr. Henry Yu is an Associate Professor in the History Department and Principal of St. John’s College at the University of British Columbia. He was a member of the Ad Hoc Tribute Committee in 2012 that organized the honorary degree ceremony for the 76 Japanese Canadian UBC students removed in 1942 and helped found the Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies program at UBC launched in 2015. Prof. Yu received his MA and PhD in History from Princeton University and was a member of the History Department and the Asian American Studies Center at UCLA from 1994-2008 before returning to British Columbia, where he was born and raised.
