We slept wherever we found shelter, on the ground, in trenches, in tents. Not much bathing or entertainment.. Ate mostly C-rations with hot meals whenever possible.

It is difficult to have someone else to understand the feelings gloom, despair, and happiness a person goes thru by himself in a combat zone during a war.
