Living conditions
We own a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Santa Clara. We sleep together in a double bed. I prefer to use a shower. Our meals are mostly continental, but we enjoy all different kinds of food. For entertainment, we travel in our R.V., fish, sight-see, take pictures and generally enjoy nature.
Most vivid memory of military experience
The battle to free the 'Lost Battalion' 141st Infantry, 36th Division in Bruyeres. It was a very hard fought battle and gave me the impression that life was cheap. Many lives were lost on both sides
Missed most whilst in the military
My family.
Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience?
We were fighting and giving our lives for more than our country; we were fighting to prove our loyalty and that we were worthy to be treated as full citizens.
Additional information
I think the huge sacrifice of lives by AJA's has done a great deal to make AJA's and other Asians more acceptable to other Americans.
