In Saigon - lived in barracks until found a place in town. In Nha Trang - slept in barracks while at HQ - in the field - slept wherever - when ever. Entertainment - saw movies, watched live entertainment on base or in town; drank a lot and did a lot of drugs.

The friendships - they were sincere and true. Other than my family - difficult to say have had friends like that before or since. The friends were literally 'brothers' to me.

Peace - It (death) was always very near. I missed the innocence of childhood.

Do not trust the government. They will lie and mis-inform people, believing they are right in doing it. A comon phrase stated repeatedly in the war-room was the people in the states do not understand what we are doing here. They continually rationalized the lies they told.
