Living conditions
Since I was assigned to a field hospital and (was) an officer, I lived in a tent, bathed at hospital, ate well at hospital. No entertainment in New Guinea. Varied entertainment in Philippines.
Most vivid memory of military experience
Army of Occupation in Kyoto, Japan. Because of historical value, it was left intact. Thorough visit of Kyoto.

My parents, wife and new baby.
Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience?
One of Japanese origin to be accepted in the American Army to be sent to the South Pacific to fight the Japanese. To be accepted even made detachment commander of enlisted men.
