1952年8月、東京日本橋生まれ。エンジニア系製図・施工図作成業。1971年フランス・パリ留学。1976年アメリカ・シアトル移住。ワシントン州、エバーグリーン州立大学、環境デザイン学科卒業後、コンピューター・エイデッド・デザイン(CAD)個人会社設立。1996年夫の仕事で一時帰国。2000年シアトル帰還。邦字新聞、北米報知社でジェネラルマネージャー兼編集長務めるが人員不足のため、記事、エッセイ多数執筆。日本語の面白さに目覚める。2005年よりCADで製図作成業に戻り、近々引退。引退後は執筆に専念の予定。趣味はゴスペルと三味線。
