Q&A Community Discussion
During WWII, the U.S. committed a secretive atrocity against Peruvians of Japanese ancestry. Seized from their homes in Peru and imprisoned in Crystal City, TX, entire families were used in hostage exchanges for American prisoners held in Japan. Stripped of their passports and legal documents, many–including the Shibayama family–were left stateless and not allowed to return home after the war. On June 24th, join us for an intimate talk with Art Shibayama, who still continues to petition the US government for a proper acknowledgement and redress for these wartime crimes committed over 70 years ago.
