Background Information

Group's Mission and Motivation

Senryu Taiko is a student-taught, student-governed taiko troupe that was formed in 1998 with the assistance of Prof. Deborah Wong. We are the Inland Empire's premiere taiko group and our mission is to educate the general public about taiko and other aspects of the Japanese culture through our performances. On the collegiate taiko scene, we are among the ranks of groups including UCLA Kyodo Taiko, UCI Jodaiko, UCSD Asayake Taiko, and Stanford Taiko.
