2004年にチリ国で初めて開催されたAPECの会議の記念行事として、チリ国立美術館にて日本基金によって行われた着物展に併せてひまわり会は着物ショーを行った。日本からAPECの会議に参加するために訪チリしていた当時の文部大臣も着物ショーを見学された。
