Vista Gakuen in 1958.

Poem on opposite reads:

"In the southernmost corner of California,
Lies a vista, a village,
Surrounded by five or six more such villages.
Here in Vista, there were Japanese who had settled,
and become natives of,
The community called Vista,
Since the beginning of the Japanese immigration to California.
Prior to the War, these people purchased four acres of land,
And constructed upon it, Vista Gakuen.
Although Vista Gakuen is now--with the change of the years--
Away from the nucleus,
Someday, there may come a time when Vista,
With a new allotment of duties, shall, play,
A great part in the world of things to come."

Photo from the 1958-1959 Japanese Language School System yearbook, Kyodo Vol. II. The yearbook contains photos of students, administrators, schools, and activities, as well as essays by students and teachers.
