Color silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's films, before 1942 and the forced exclusion of World War II, generally show family outings, sporting events, holidays, celebrations, and the family business.

This segment, from the late 1930s or early 1940s, shows the Tatsuno, Okada, and Tsuchiya families on a spring trip to Yosemite National Park; the families picnic on a hillside; Alice Okada Tatsuno walking on a path; the Anderson Motel in Merced, California; Shojiro Tatsuno and a long line of cars waiting to enter Yosemite; footage of Yosemite from a moving car; Yosemite Falls; Mr. Tsuchiya, Shojiro Tatsuno, and an unidentified young woman in a meadow; scenic views; cabins (01:53).

Tatsuno's notes on this clip: "Yosemite - family and Mr. and Mrs. Tsuchiya – June".

Credits: Dave Tatsuno Collection, Gift of Dave Tatsuno, in Memory of Walter Honderick, Japanese American National Museum (91.74). Preserved and made accessible in part by a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation.
