Henry Sugimoto, "Railroad Work"

Working on the railroads was another activity of the Issei before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The location in this painting is near Hanford, where Sugimoto and his parents lived before he left for France. It is probable that Sugimoto was personally familiar with this place.
