The Japanese American Service Committee (JASC), in cooperation with the Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, an affiliate of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, will hold its fall Health Screening Day on Saturday, October 25, from 9 am to noon. The basic screening (blood chemistry tests for diabetes; cholesterol levels; liver function; kidney function; electrolytes, including potassium and calcium; iron, and blood counts) is available to JASC members for $55, and to nonmembers for $110. Other screening tests - prostatic specific antigen for prostate cancer; Helicobactor Pylori-IgG for stomach bacteria; glycohemoglobin for diabetes; and Ca 125 for ovarian cancer - are also available at additional cost.
