カリン・ヒガは、アジア系アメリカ人美術の学芸員および専門家で、全米日系人博物館の美術担当主任学芸員を務め、ジョージ・ナカシマ展「自然、形態、精神」、「見えない光景:マスミ・ハヤシの写真構成」、「色彩に生きる:ヒデオ・デイトの美術」、「ブルース&ノーマン・ヨネモト展:記憶、物質、現代のロマンス」 、 「内部からの眺め:1942~1945年の強制収容所からの日系アメリカ人美術」など、数多くの展覧会を企画しました。彼女はコロンビア大学とカリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校で学位を取得し、ミルズ・カレッジ、カリフォルニア大学アーバイン校、オーティス芸術デザイン大学で教鞭をとり、アジア系アメリカ人美術と現代美術について幅広く講義を行いました。
