Led by traci kato-kiriyama and Naomi Hirahara, this interactive workshop will guide participants through uncovering and recording our personal and familial histories. We encourage participants to sign up in intergenerational pairings or groupings and to explore stories relating to coming of age across generations.

traci kato-kiriyama is the author of Navigating Without Instruments, and is an award-winning multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary artist, recognized for their work as a writer/performer, theatre deviser, cultural producer, community organizer, and audiobook narrator. Naomi Hirahara is an Edgar Award-winning author of multiple traditional mystery series and noir short stories. Her work includes the Mas Arai mysteries, which have been published in Japanese, Korean and French, Clark and Division, and 1001 Cranes.

This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, Don’t Fence Me In: Coming of Age in America’s Concentration Camps.
