Black and white silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's earliest films, taken from August-November 1936 while he was an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, show family, church, and school activities.
This segment (01:06) was filmed on August 28, 1936, while crossing the San Francisco Bay on a ferry; the Ferry Building and Embarcadero; the west span of the nearly completed San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge; the Southern Pacific ferries Santa Clara and Sierra Nevada; the ferry passes under the bridge.
