The National Park Service (NPS) needs the public's input to help determine the criteria that will guide a multi-million dollar federal program to conserve and maintain World War II-era Japanese American internment camps. On Wednesday, October 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, the NPS will conduct a listening session in Chicago at the Japanese American Service Committee (4427 N. Clark Street). Similar sessions have already been conducted in Washington, Oregon, and Nevada, and are planned for California, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia.
For further information on the NPS listening sessions, as well as on the grant program itself, visit http://parkplanning.nps.gov/parkHome.cfm?parkID=73. Comments on the grant program can be submitted at the same address through November 2, 2007.
