Color silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's films, before 1942 and the forced exclusion of World War II, generally show family outings, sporting events, holidays, celebrations, and the family business.
This segment, from ca. 1940, shows an unidentified couple standing outside the Tatsunos' store, Nichibei Bussan, on Buchanan St. in San Francisco; the same couple waves from aboard the Kamakura Maru, decked with paper streamers, as it sails from the San Francisco Embarcadero (00:34).
