Shiogama coastline
After leaving the work sight, we toured the Shiogama coastline (see photo section). I thought that it was worse than what we had seen before. Previously, there were a few damaged buildings left and some people toughing it out. There was nothing left in the sections that the tsunami touched. The buildings that appeared to be standing were ones that floated there and were totally blown out. As we made a right turn to go up a hill, I noticed the huge temporary Ohaka that just left me speachless. I did say a quick prayer for the survivors. The huge empty fields that look like ruined rice fields were actually residential neighborhoods.
