Black and white silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's earliest films, taken from August 1936-January 1937, show family, church, and school activities.

This segment (01:59), filmed January 2, 1937, shows the Tatsuno dry-goods store, Nichibei Bussan Co., at the corner of Buchanan and Post Streets in San Francisco; a title board, "Our Store / Taken On / Jan 2 1937 / Happy New Year"; a title board, "Approved by the Board of Censors OKMNX"; the street-corner exterior of Nichibei Bussan; Shojiro Tatsuno, Masateru ("Tut") Tatsuno, and an unidentified young man exit the store; merchandise in the store windows; store interiors [dark]; staff and customers [dark]; merchandise, including clothing and men's neckties [dark]; a sign over a door, "Thank You! Come Again..."

Tatsuno's notes for this clip erroneously indicate that the footage is color: "New Years Dinner and our store (Kodachrome Color Film), January 1, 1937".
