@mmasumotoMarie Masumoto é uma pesquisadora independente da história nipo-americana e voluntária do Centro Nacional de Recursos Hirasaki no Museu Nacional Nipo-Americano. Marie também é voluntária no Sítio Histórico Nacional de Manzanar e escavou oito jardins arqueológicos construídos durante o encarceramento de nipo-americanos na Segunda Guerra Mundial e é voluntária na peregrinação anual de Manzanar, realizando passeios pelos jardins. Ela contribuiu com três artigos sobre centros de detenção para a Enciclopédia Densho online.

On my birthday, May 6, 2007, I got an e-mail from my friend Park Ranger Carrie Andresen-Strawn at the Manzanar National Historic Site Interpretive Center. She wanted to know if I would like to volunteer on an excavation of two gardens at Blocks 9 and 10. These two blocks housed most of the Terminal Islanders who were forced to leave their homes, businesses and give up their livelihood and their successful occupations as fishermen.
