Sharleen Naomi Nakamoto Levine lives in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, with her husband and two daughters. She is an instructor in American Studies, History, and Women's Studies, at Honolulu Community College. As an historian, she not only researches and writes about her family history, but the related history of Japanese and Filipino women on Hawai‘i's sugar plantations in the early to mid-twentieth century.
