John Esaki é o Diretor do Frank H. Watase Media Arts Center do Museu Nacional Nipo-Americano. Seu trabalho inclui: Diretor de Maceo: Demon Drummer de East LA; Tela Dura: Artista Henry Sugimoto; Top of their Game (trabalho sobre atletas do JA); Palavras, Tecelagens e Canções (perfis de Wakako Yamauchi, Momo Nagano, Mary Kageyama Nomura); Defenda a Justiça: A História de Ralph Lazo ; e co-produtor de Crossroads: Boyle Heights; 9.066 a 11/09; BIG DRUM: Taiko nos EUA; Além do Jardim Japonês; Barbara Kawakami: uma vida texturizada; Traçando a Linha: Arte, Design e Ativismo Nipo-Americano no Pós-Guerra L. A. O Sr. Esaki recebeu um bacharelado em Inglês e uma credencial de ensino da UC Berkeley, e lecionou na Carmel Middle School, bem como em Documentação Comunitária e Curso de Etno-Comunicação na UCLA. VC – A Quarter Century in Little Tokyo

Twenty-five years have passed in what seems only a few moments: the Little Tokyo years of VC. Its founders pragmatically called it Visual Communications, Southern California Asian American Studies Central, Inc. in 1971 after a humble birth in the living room of photographer Bob Nakamura, where the first project emerged as an ingenious modular exhibition of the camps for the JACL “Visual Communications” committee.
