Main Street\, S alinas\, CA. The host organization\, the Gilroy Chapter of the Japanese Am erican Citizens League promises a meaningful learning experience about a g rim chapter in U.S. History.\n Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor\, Exe cutive Order 9066 mandated the evacuation of Japanese and Japanese America ns from the West Coast. The Salinas Rodeo Grounds was established by the g overnment as a &ldquo\;holding ground&rdquo\; before deportation to Poston \, Arizona\, one of ten War Relocation Authority detention camps.\n\n The presentation will show case the following: Bilingual storyteller\, Megumi will open by spinning tales to provide background information. The main ev ent\, a panel discussion\, will feature Sus Ikeda\, Jack Matsuoka\, Bob Ok a\, and Aki (Awaya) Okuno\, who will recount first hand experiences at the center. Facilitator\, Aggie Idemoto will encourage interaction among and between panelists and the audience.
