Milton and Christine Omoto (Highlands Ranch, Colorado), participants at the "Whose America? Who's American? Diversity, Civil Liberties, and Social Justice" National Conference in Denver, Colorado presented by the Japanese American National Museum.

The photo was taken at the Discover Nikkei booth in the Community Marketplace on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency, Denver.

Milton Omoto comments:
We attended this JANM Conference in Denver to learn more about the Japanese American experience during WW2. As Sansei Japanese Americans, it is important to learn and to continue the legacy of what the Issei and Nisei experienced, to document the information and to continue the equation to future generations.

Christine Omoto comments:
I live in Colorado but grew up in Boyle Heights. The reasons I came to the conference are 1) would like to know what happened in camp, 2) What steps happened to gather the Japanese. Was there a window of opportunity where the Japanese could move instead of going to camp?
