19430604 Letter from Hiroshi, eldest son of Suyeichi Okamura to Edward J. Ennis, AEC

This is the last letter to ever be written by Hiroshi Okamura, the eldest son of Suyeichi Okamura. It was written to Alien Enemy Control Unit Director Edward J. Ennis stating that his brother George Saburo, 23 was volunteering into the US Army, which shows the patriotism of his father's family and therefore his father should be released to join the family in Amache. I feel that Hiroshi might have joined as well, but was the family head with two children and another on the way. Ironically, his letter was staped as being received at the Department of Justice on June 8, 1943, the very day he died of an injury sustained while he was working on an Amache construction project. A month later, Carol Hiroko, his third child was born July 5, 1943, never to know her daddy.
