Terminal Island Baptist Summer School Aug 11,1929

Correction: Terminal Island Baptist church was knonwn for its Sunday school and Japanese language school programs.  The Terminal Island Baptist Church served as a Japanese language school. Rev. and Mrs. Ito were the early administrators. Rev. and Mrs. Shiraishi succeeded Rev. Ito and they were followed by Rev. K. Yamamoto.

The Terminal Island Baptist Church staff included Issei Rev. Kichitaro Yamamoto, Canadian Nisei Jitsuo Morikawa, and Virginia Swanson Yamamoto, a Caucasian missionary married to Rev. Yamamoto. In addition to worship services and Sunday School for 400 children, the church had provided its isolated congregation with boys’ and girls’ clubs, a young people’s group, a nursery school, and Japanese and English language classes.

Rev. Wada would guest speak and Mutsu Wada Homma would teach Japanese dance at the church
