島袋 盛徳
(しまぶくろ・せいとく)
島袋誠徳は実業家であり、日本語教師でもありました。1977年に日本政府から勲章を授与されました。沖縄に生まれ、1920年にペルーに渡りました。1956年にアマゾンに移住しました。1974年に出版された『アマゾン讃歌』をはじめ、日本語で数冊の本を執筆しました。1982年に亡くなりました。

Yamato Taba arrived to Peru in 1921 from Okinawa, Japan, to harvest cotton in the Cañete area, 150 km south from Lima, the capital of Peru.
