亀山絵里さんは、UCLAでアジアンアメリカン研究を専攻し、「Acts of Being and Belonging: Negotiating Shin-Issei Transnational Identitie」と題した修士論文を執筆し、近年修士号を取得しました。現在亀山さんは、日系アメリカ人市民同盟（JACL）のパシフィックサウスウェスト地区で、プログラムアソシエイトとして働いています。
