デイヴィッド・ムラは詩人、クリエイティブ・ノンフィクション作家、評論家、劇作家、パフォーマンス・アーティストです。彼の回想録「Turning Japanese: Memoirs of a Sansei」は、 1991年にオークランドPENからジョセフィン・マイルズ賞を受賞し、ニューヨーク・タイムズの年間注目図書に選ばれました。彼の2冊目の詩集「The Colors of Desire 」は、シカゴ公共図書館友の会からカール・サンドバーグ文学賞を受賞しました。彼の最初の詩集「 After We Lost Our Way 」は、1989年の全米詩集コンテストで優勝しました。彼の最新作は、小説「Famous Suicides of the Japanese Empire」です。
