Background Information

Group's Mission and Motivation

UCLA Yukai Daiko was formed in the hope of spreading the joy of taiko to the UCLA community. Its members are all current or past students of UCLA and they strive to spread the love of taiko both to the campus and the surrounding Los Angeles community. Yukai in Japanese, means cheerful and so the group encourages its members to live up to that name and to become a family on campus.
