Kristin Hanaoka
Kristin Hanaoka es una japonesa estadounidense de cuarta generación de los suburbios de Chicago. Se graduó de la Universidad Estatal de Illinois con una licenciatura en Educación Primaria. Actualmente enseña inglés en Japón con el Programa de Enseñanza e Intercambio de Japón como profesora asistente de idiomas en Takahagi, Ibaraki-ken, ubicado directamente al sur de Fukushima-ken en la costa noreste de Japón. Kristin ha estado en Japón desde julio de 2009 y enseña en varias escuelas secundarias en el área norte de Ibaraki.

Friday, March 11On Friday, March 11, 2011, my life was turned upside down. A 9.0 earthquake struck the northeastern coast of Japan, followed by a massive tsunami that killed more than 8,100 people, left 12,000 missing and displaced 452,000 people.
