BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-//PYVOBJECT//NONSGML Version 1//EN BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART:20180728T000000Z DTEND:20180728T000000Z DESCRIPTION:Susu Attar\, Dan Kwong\, Tina Takemoto and Kuniharu Yoshida wil l publicly unveil their creative projects as part of the inaugural Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) +LAB Artist Residency Program on Saturday\, Ju ly 28\, from 6-8 p.m. at the National Center for the Preservation of Democ racy\, 100 North Central Avenue in Little Tokyo.\n\nThese four California- based artists were selected to participate in a three-month residency in L os Angeles&rsquo\; Little Tokyo from May 1 to July 31\, 2018. During this residency\, the artists immersed themselves in the Little Tokyo community by living at the historic Daimaru Hotel on First Street North. Guided by t he overarching theme of &ldquo\;Community Control and Self-Determination\, &rdquo\; the artists collaborated with Little Tokyo-based non-profit organ izations to promote community engagement and to explore creative place-mak ing strategies through their artistic practice.\n\nThe public presentation will feature short films\, photographic exhibits\, and a staged reading o f Dan Kwong&rsquo\;s forthcoming theatrical piece\, &ldquo\;Tales of Littl e Tokyo.&rdquo\; Admission is free\, but attendees&nbsp\;<a href="https:// 2718?ref=enivte001&amp\;invite=MTQ2NTc2MjUvZ3N1bm9vQGx0c2Mub3JnLzA%3D&amp\ ;utm_source=eb_email&amp\;utm_medium=email&amp\;utm_campaign=invitemodernv 2&amp\;utm_term=eventpage" target="_blank">are asked to RSVP for the event here</a>.
