 ld to overcome the stigma of being a member of a despised group and&nbsp\;
 </strong><strong>features the lives of important cultural icons\, William 
 Minoru Hohri\, who led a massive class action lawsuit against the&nbsp\;</
 strong><strong>United States\, and Iva Toguri\, who was wrongfully convict
 ed of treason and subsequently pardoned.</strong>\n<strong></strong>\n<str
 ong>The first chapter of Sideways was published in The New Orphic Review\,
  spring issue 2014. It was shortlisted in the&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Open-
 Season Competition of The Malahat Review creative non-fiction category for
  2013\; and was also nominated for&nbsp\;</strong><strong>the Pushcart Pri
 ze Anthology for 2015. Diana holds degrees in music and English literature
  and now resides in Nelson\,&nbsp\;</strong><strong>British Columbia where
  she has organized forums in support of residential school survivors.</str
