Nihonmachi Little Friends and Ikeibi Films are pleased to present the final screening of “Infinity & Chashu Ramen” - the first feature film shot entirely in San Francisco’s Japantown - onMay 17. The fundraiser screening will benefit Nihonmachi Little Friends’ capital project, the Plant a Seed Campaign.

The universe unfolds a little differently in Japantown, a sleepy neighborhood in the heart of San Francisco – a magical place where unseen spirits roam the streets guiding people’s lives.

A mischievous, 400-year-old obake named Tenshi has watched over the community for generations. But today he has been charged with showing the ropes to a new apprentice - young Lucy Yamaguchi. Together, these two mismatched spirits will wander in and out of the lives of the unsuspecting residents as they try to keep the universe running smoothly.

“Infinity and Chashu Ramen” features six distinct storylines told in the Japanese folklore tradition of tengu and stars noted Nisei poet, playwright and actor Hiroshi Kashiwagi and Nikkei actors Todd Nakagawa, Suz Takeda, Randall Nakano, Larry Kitagawa, Ben Arikawa, Naomi Quinones, Anna Jones and Chizuko Omori.

Established in 1975, Nihonmachi Little Friends is a nonprofit childcare center with a mission to provide Japanese/English bilingual, educational childcare in a multicultural context for preschool through elementary school-aged children. NLF is currently working to start construction of a preschool addition to the site originally chosen by the Issei (first generation) women, adjacent to 1830 Sutter. NLF is proud to follow in their footsteps by creating this new addition to serve the community.

“Infinity & Chashu Ramen” will be shown at 12 noon and 2:30 pm May 17 at Tateuchi Auditorium, 1830 Sutter Street in Japantown. Tickets at the door are $12. Discounted tickets of $10 or $8 for seniors/students can be purchased at Nihonmachi Little Friends and online at infinityandchashuramen.com. Seating is limited.
