Hank Umemoto will visit the JCI to discuss his book , Manzanar to Mount Whitney: The Life and Times of a Lost Hiker .  Mr. Umemoto's book alternates between his experiences in Manzanar and his postwar hiking trips. It is a colorfully-written, sensitive—and often funny—account.  On the way to Manzanar, the teenaged Hank catches a glimpse of Mt. Whitney, and the sight sparks his dream of hiking it someday.  The book chronicles his adventures in and out of camp.  You don’t want to miss this event!
