Through the tireless efforts of Dr. Nobuko Chikamatsu Chandler of the Department of Modern Languages at DePaul University, the Chicago Japanese Americans in the Military Intelligence Service panels are up for viewing through February 18 at DePaul's John T. Richardson Library, 2350 N. Kenmore (at Fullerton).  The exhibit is open to the public without charge seven days a week in the Haber Lounge on the first floor of the library (directly to your left once you enter the glass doors).  Library hours are 7:30 am to midnight weekdays and 10 am to 9 pm weekends.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in and around the Haber Lounge.  Exhibit curator Jane Kenamore will say a few words, and the National Japanese American Historical Society  film "Prejudice and Patriotism" will be shown.  Light refreshments will be served.

A panel discussion similar to the one held at JASC last June is planned for February 10, from 5:30 to 7 pm, in the University's art museum (located in the same building as the library).

Validated parking ($8) is available in the facilities on Sheffield and on Clifton.  Tickets can be validated at an unmarked and mysterious box at the circulation desk; look for a black box about 4x2x3 inches printed with white numbers and located toward the right side of the desk. Be forewarned, however, that the people at the desk may not know that validation is available.
