In this memoir\, Mr. Sidline\, who was seven yea rs old in 1941\, describes what life was like for his family living in Kob e\, including their friendships with American POWs at Marks House\, adjace nt to the Sidline home. The author was persuaded to write this book by man y people who were unaware that foreigners lived in Japan during the war. T his book is a must-read for anyone interested in this little known aspect of the periphery of war in the Pacific.\n\nIn addition\, the ONLC gift sho p will host a <strong>summer book sale</strong> from noon to 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
