Over 200 scouts representing seven troops gathered Sunday February 8,1970 at Maryknoll School during Little Tokyo's National Scout Week for its first annual Scout Field Day. The boy scouts participated in events such as fire-building, knot-tying, and compass and lashing events that demonstrated knowledge of survival skills, athleticism, and most of all team work.
