Watch Watch Licensing

Black and white silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's earliest films, taken from August 1936-January 1937, show family, church, and school activities.

This segment shows the October 17, 1936, football game between the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, Los Angeles; Tatsuno's brother, Masateru ("Tut"); a view of the stadium and carillon tower at Berkeley; unidentified young men in the stadium bleachers; a marching band; the football game; spectators; marching bands; the card section [dark]; celebrations among spectators after the game (03:46).
