My name refects my Irish heritage - Maureen is a variation of Mary, a very common Irish name. My parents considered naming me Kathleen, but switched to Maureen for the alliteration with my last name. It's not a wildly unusual name but unusual enough to be misspelled more often that you might think.

I've always like my name <3
