19430729 - 1o3-pg Notarized petition for the release of father written by George Saburo Okamura

Saburo, 23 wrote a detailed 3-page petition that fully characterized his father, Suyeichi Okamura, a prisoner in the DOJ Alien Enemy prison camp in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a good American citizen and a strong and generous Japanese American community leader. Saburo also describes the accidental death of his older brother, Hiroshi while working on a camp work project, the illnesses faced by his mother and the fact that he will be living shortly to join the US Army. Saburo went on to honorably serve as an MIS Interpreter in the Phillipines.
