Jamie Henricks
Jamie Henricks is the Archivist at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM). She provides support to scholars, families, and colleagues looking for objects and stories from the collections at JANM and facilitates research visits (in addition to assisting with exhibitions, donations, loans, and many other projects!). She has a Master of Library and Information Science degree from UCLA, and has previous experience working with archival collections and rare materials at Pepperdine University and UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library.

The Story of Citizen USA

The release of the book Citizen USA by the Japanese American National Museum has been over 75 years in the making. Written at the Manzanar concentration camp between 1942 and 1943 by the Director of Adult Education, Charles K. Ferguson, yet never released at the time, the unpublished manuscript was donated to JANM by Charles Ferguson’s wife, Lois, in 2002.
