 st respected ensembles in the taiko world—as they celebrate twenty-two y
 ears of creativity with a special performance at JANM. Established in 2002
  by childhood friends Shoji Kameda and Masato “Maz” Baba\, On Ensemble
  infuses the powerful rhythms of taiko with a wide range of musical influe
 nces from jazz and rock to central Asian overtone singing.\n\n&lt;em&gt;Modern D
 rummer&lt;/em&gt; magazine calls them “an exciting taiko ensemble looking at 
 new ways to apply traditional Japanese drums.” Their fearless musical ex
 ploration has expanded the artistic range of taiko and has taken these anc
 ient instruments into new realms.\n\n&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;On 22&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;—the
 ir only 2023 performance in Los Angeles—will feature &lt;strong&gt;Shoji Kame
 da&lt;/strong&gt;\, &lt;strong&gt;Maz Baba&lt;/strong&gt;\, &lt;strong&gt;Eien Hunter-Ishikawa&lt;/
 strong&gt;\, and &lt;strong&gt;Abe Lagrimas Jr&lt;/strong&gt;\, and special guest &lt;stro
