DESCRIPTION:<strong>Visit the beautiful oasis in  the middle of Carson's in
 dustrial area as the Gardena Valley JCI (GVJCI) and the Dominguez Rancho A
 dobe Museum (DRAM) co-sponsor  the seminar titled Japanese Argonauts on th
 e Dominguez Rancho.</strong>\n<strong></strong>\n\nThere  will be an accom
 plished panel to lead us through the early history of  Issei and Nisei tha
 t lived and worked on the Dominguez Rancho.  Discover  interesting facts 
 about how the Nikkei came to settle on the rancho and  what they had to de
 al with during and after World war II.  The speakers  will be:\n\n<ul><li

 minguez Hills (CSUDH) </li><li>Eileen Reiko Yoshimura\, Director of  Finan
 cial Management for the Port of Los Angeles\; Board member of the  Japanes
 e American Optimists. </li><li>Tom Philo\, Archivist/Cataloger for the Arc
 hives &amp\; Special Collections at CSUDH. </li><li>Lane Hirabayashi\, Geo
 rge and Sakaye  Aratani Professor of the Japanese American Incarceration\,
  Redress\, and  Community\, and professor of Asian  American Studies at UC
 LA. </li></ul>\n\nDRAM is located just south of the 91 freeway on Alameda
