The Second Annual Fred T. Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution” marks the one hundredth birthday commemoration for Fred Korematsu. The program will begin with “Fred Korematsu and His Fight for Justice,” a reenactment of legal proceedings in Korematsu v. United States, to be performed by AABANY members. The reenactment will be followed by “Why the Korematsu Case Still Matters Today,” a panel discussion featuring members of AABANY, Council on American-Islamic Relations – NY (CAIR), and Rutgers Center for Immigration Law, Policy, and Justice. The evening will conclude with a reception sponsored by the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU and AABANY.
